Building WAV Smart AV Dubai – Our First 3 Weeks
The past few weeks have been nothing short of transformational. In the middle of August, our family made the big move to Dubai, ready to take on a new chapter both personally and professionally. These first three weeks have been a whirlwind of settling in, setting up, and laying the foundations for WAV Smart AV Dubai. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:
Moving In – Our New Home in Dubai
The first step was getting our family settled. We’ve moved into our rented villa, which has quickly became home after (mostly) furnishing it and creating a space where we could all feel comfortable. Uprooting life from the UK and starting fresh in Dubai was a big step, but the energy of the city and the warmth of the community have made the transition far smoother than expected. We chose Arabian Ranches 2, as it’s very close to the school, and we love it already. We have 2 pools, a gym, playground, football pitch, tennis and padel courts, volleyball court and large shopping centre all within a 5 minute’s walk. It’s so relaxed, clean, and full of families, so should be great for the girls to make friends and have a great time outside (once it cools down a bit!)
A New School, A New Start
Of course, one of the biggest priorities was making sure our two girls settled into their new school. We’re pleased to say they’ve adapted brilliantly — making friends and embracing their new routines (earlier mornings!). Knowing they’re happy and thriving has given us the reassurance to focus fully on growing the business.
Launching WAV Smart AV Dubai
With home life taking shape, the focus quickly turned to business. Starting WAV Smart AV Dubai from scratch has been both challenging and exciting. In just three weeks we’ve:
Met with leading suppliers and distributors across Dubai and the UAE.
Sat down with prospective clients to discuss upcoming projects.
Explored opportunities with businesses we can collaborate with to deliver world-class AV solutions.
These early conversations are already shaping what promises to be a very exciting future for the company.
Partnering with HL Group
We’ve also had the privilege of working closely with HL Group, who are already well established in Dubai and across the wider region. Their local expertise and strong reputation have been invaluable in helping us introduce WAV Smart AV to the market. Together, we’re committed to building brand presence not just in Dubai, but across the UAE and the Middle East.
We will also be working with Lee and the guys at Vision-Tech, helping each other with upcoming projects in Dubai and the Middle East. Lee, setup over in Dubai around the same time as ourselves, and it is great to be able to support him and have him there for support for ourselves. He has some exciting projects coming up in the near future, and we look forward to working with him closely.
Looking Ahead – An Exciting Collaboration
While these first weeks have been busy, we’re only just getting started. Behind the scenes, we’ve been working on another major collaboration that we’re extremely excited about. We’ll be sharing more details next week, but for now we can say this partnership will be an important step forward in building the business in Dubai and the Middle East.
