Habitech & Sonance Trip to San Clemente - California
Inside Sonance: Our California Journey with Habitech
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to join 13 fellow UK AV integrators on a truly unforgettable trip to California, hosted by the fantastic teams at Habitech Ltd and Sonance. The purpose? A deep dive into the world of architectural audio at Sonance’s global headquarters in San Clemente—and it did not disappoint.
A Closer Look at the Sonance Philosophy
Over the course of two immersive days, we were taken behind the scenes at Sonance HQ to explore their full speaker portfolio. From first impressions, it was clear this wasn’t just about products—it was about a brand philosophy rooted in design, science, and innovation.
One of the standout aspects was learning about the science behind sound dispersion and speaker placement, which Sonance has clearly mastered through years of experience and meticulous R&D. Their ethos of creating audio solutions that blend seamlessly into the architecture of a space really resonated with our team—especially with the growing demand for minimalist, design-led smart homes in the UK.
The Power of Invisible Sound
A major highlight was getting hands-on with Sonance’s Invisible Series. These speakers defy expectations—completely hidden behind walls or ceilings, yet capable of delivering rich, room-filling audio without a single grille or trim in sight.
The clarity, balance, and immersive quality from what looked like a blank wall was a testament to the level of innovation Sonance has achieved. It’s easy to see why these products are becoming the go-to solution for high-end residential and commercial installs where aesthetics matter just as much as sound.
Hospitality & Highlights
Beyond the technical insights, the hospitality from Habitech and Sonance was next level. From warm welcomes to seamless planning, every detail was taken care of. Our evenings were filled with great food, drinks, and entertainment, allowing us to relax, network, and reflect on the day’s learnings with some brilliant minds from across the UK AV industry.
And of course, being California, the weather was absolutely perfect—sunshine, sea breezes, and a stunning San Clemente backdrop that made the whole experience even more memorable.
Final Thoughts
This trip wasn’t just about speakers—it was about building relationships, expanding our knowledge, and reaffirming our passion for delivering exceptional AV experiences. A massive thank you to Habitech Ltd and Sonance for their hospitality, generosity, and insight. We came away inspired, energised, and even more excited about what’s possible in the world of integrated audio.
